Obama – I Still Have Checks So Let’s Keep Spending

Party Time

Party Time

In a 1-2-3 knock out today, President Obama and his power-drunk Congress spent another trillion-plus dollars.  No biggie.  When you’re 13 trillion in the hole, you just don’t care anymore.  “It’s time to party and it’s all on me [actually it's all on you]“.  And all that stuff called rules and laws and that silly thing called the Constitution, forget about that too.

Number 1.  President I’m-going-to-have-the-most-transparent-administration-ever Obama spent another trillion today in a PRIVATE signing.  Yeah, if I was going to be doing the slim-shady, I’d probably do it under the cover of darkness too.

AP President Barack Obama has signed into law a $1.1 trillion bill that increases the budgets in many areas of the government by about 10 percent, including health, law enforcement and veterans’ programs.

Obama signed the bill privately at the White House on Wednesday after receiving the bill from Congress on Sunday.

Democrats said the spending would help the economy recover from the recession.

Right. And I’m going to drink my way sober too.

Coming in at number 2 today.  The House blew some more cash today to make more jobs.  Didn’t we already try that one?  I actually own a shovel and nobody from the Feds has contacted me about my shovel-ready job on the first go around.  I’m sure they’ll get to me this time, though.

Forbes The U.S. House of Representatives Wednesday narrowly approved a $155 billion measure that seeks to create jobs and blunt the impact of the worst recession since the 1930s.

By a vote of 217 to 212, the House approved additional spending for “shovel-ready” construction projects and money to avoid layoffs of teachers, police and other public employees. No Republicans voted for the bill, and 38 Democrats voted against it.

And rounding out the field today, number 3.  Congress has spent soooooo much money that Congress is now in violation of law that Congress set in place to keep Congress under control from too much Congressional spending.  Fox, meet hen-house.

CBS The latest calculation of the National Debt as posted by the Treasury Department has – at least numerically – exceeded the statutory Debt Limit approved by Congress last February as part of the Recovery Act stimulus bill.

The ceiling was set at $12.104 trillion dollars. The latest posting by Treasury shows the National Debt at nearly $12.135 trillion.

A senior Treasury official told CBS News that the department has some “extraordinary accounting tools” it can use to give the government breathing room in the range of $150-billion when the Debt exceeds the Debt Ceiling.

Call me stupid, but didn’t Bernie Madoff have some “extraordinary accounting tools” as well?  So did the Ken Lay of Enron and Bernie Ebbers from WorldCom.  Those guys all went to prison [Ken Lay died just before sentencing], for their creative financing loathsome deeds.  When private industry gets “creative” with their books, heads roll and people go to prison [as they should].  When the Feds do it, it’s  just for some “breathing room”, while they call the Chinese credit card company, get their credit limit raised, grab some more cash from the American taxpayers ATM and keep the party going strong.  Party on Wayne.
