I usually don’t get into the “big-dog” politics. Plenty of voices out there far better than myself. But this is rich.
WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama called on Congress Wednesday to approve $250 payments to more than 50 million seniors to make up for no increase in Social Security next year. The Social Security Administration is scheduled to announce Thursday that there will be no cost of living increase next year. By law, increases are pegged to inflation, which has been negative this year.
It would mark the first year without an increase in Social Security payments since automatic adjustments were adopted in 1975.
“Even as we seek to bring about recovery, we must act on behalf of those hardest hit by this recession,” Obama said in a statement. “This additional assistance will be especially important in the coming months, as countless seniors and others have seen their retirement accounts and home values decline as a result of this economic crisis.”
Now for you people who went to public school, $250 divided by 365 days in a year = 68 cents per day. Hey Grandma, how’s that hope and change working out for you?
I’m sure some will find that question “insensitive. What is really insensitive is a president who throws our senior citizens table scraps while he dines on wagyu beef, all the while proclaiming that he has pulled us “back from the brink”, “turned this economy around” and “saved us all from this global crisis”.

Remeberwhen GW Bush was in office and tiems were tough and the Democrats said that our parents and grandparents were going to be eating dog food? Where is the outrage now? Of course silence from the left. But $250 can buy a lot of dog food.
King Obama once again shows that his propensity to spend tax payers money with little regard for its effectiveness knows no end. What a freaking idiot! We must regain control of the House and Senate and stifle this moran before we become a puppet nation, like Great Britian, to a better managed country. How much more must Americans see and endure before Uncle Barack is brought up on charges for crimes against America. Mr. Hussein………….please remember that although Americans are forgiving by nature when threatened with survival we have been known to fight back with a ferocity matched only by our tenacity.
My dearest Conrad, I wish that even 20% of the US voters had your passion towards our country and what the Constitution stands for. Hopefully with what we see happening in DC, Jersay and Virginia right now will be a wake-up callto the rest of America. Let us pray for similar results with the local Tucson election.
